"I CUT Him"...

YES I DID GIRL! Oh, and by "Him" I mean my bangs.

Here's how I did it and how you can do it too. While my bangs are a 'lil' on the long-side of the bang family the same rules apply to short, medium and long... no matter what your preference. I apologize in advance for these images, they're not the greatest quality, but you will get what I'm explaining... Kno wha' um talkin bout?

Step 1: Part your hair where you want the bang to start and pull the rest into a ponytail. **The closer to the center of your head the part, the thicker your bang will be. (I went for something pretty modest)**

Step 2: **Critical** Begin cutting from the CENTER not the sides. It's a lot easier to know where you want the bang to end if you start at the focal point... The Center of the Face. Depending how far down you want your bang to fall, use markers on your face to keep you cutting evenly and ALWAYS do your initial cut a little longer than what you ultimately want to end-up with. Also, keep in mind that curling your bang will make it shorter. So, when you decide on a length, before you start cutting take that into consideration. For example, I knew I wanted something below the eye and above the cheek bone so I used the top of my nose as a mark to begin cutting.

Step 3: Chinese Bangs-If you are cutting straight across the face... It's very simple- using the center piece you first cut as check-point align your scissors to form a straight line along the bottom of the already cut section. Begin cutting towards the outside in a straight line until you've reached the end. Follow the same process for the other side. Then jump to Step 4. Asymmetrical Bangs- If you are cutting a layered bang, using the center section you've already cut as a starting point, take your scissors and form a line diagonally along your face. Use your nose as an anchor or prop for your scissors to keep them straight... see images below. Do the same to the other side.

Step 4: Clean-up the bang by cutting any missed hairs. The purpose of this is to ensure a clean cut. Do not cut hair that has already been cut. You're simply going back to cut any hairs that you didn't cut the first time and to overall clean up the look. If you decide at this point that the bang is too long follow the same process from the beginning, but only trim off the access length **In cutting remember "Less is More"**. AND remember to leave a little length for curling if that is something you plan to do.

And there you have it! If you do try this at home, send me your pics I'd love to see them... especially if you mess-up LOL -- Don't worry it grows back... usually!

Ya'll AIGHT wit ME!... Randomness

Man! I was so disappointed when I heard HBO bought the rights to the Inaugural Celebration Performances... that's basically why ya'll haven't been able to see President Elect and fam get down wit the likes of Beyonce, Bo-no, Stevie and such on the regular (basic cable) channels. Anyway, there is a glimmer of light at the end of the dark tunnel... They got it playing for the FREE online at HBO.com. I don't know about you, but I have a whole new respect for them... Dats wussup HBO!- I really thought I was gonna have to order that shyte (and by shyte, I mean most publicized Presidential Inaugural Celebration... I know I know, I should read more... my vocab is so circumscribed)- phew!

Where my BOYz @?

You know... Ol' Cici just may have been on to something with that "Like a Boy" thang. Check this: So, on an outing to Target with my homegirl I came across some of the cutest flannel shirts EVER! Great fit, great look and even better price ($4/pop). I looked around and OMG(!), I'm in the little boys section... Now, not little boys like toddlers (obviously) but little boys like juniors (maybe middle school kids or somethin) . Anyway, the point is in my regular WOMEN sizes I'm a small (easy) maybe even an XS (on a good day)... in boys clothes... I'm a MEDIUM! And, I'm pretty sure the sizes correspond the further up you go... i.e.Women Medium=Boys Large, Women Large=Boys XL and so forth. Initially, I felt like that's a little weird... I'm a grown-az woman shopping in the boys section but, when I paid $4 what many of you have paid $40 for... it don't feel so weird after all. Shout to Cici... When dat album gone drop homey? In the meantime...
